Resolution

We can scan from 300-9600 dpi (optical). Scanning resolution is dependent on the size of the original. For a standard 4x6 inch print we typically scan at 600 dpi which can produce a good quality 8x10 inch print.

Storage Format

JPG is the most common format and sufficient for almost any purpose (sharing, resizing, printing, enlargements, etc.) File size is relatively small and it is very portable between devices.

TIFF is a lossless format and preserves the most detail and information about an image for archiving. File size is large requiring more storage. It allows for virtually unlimited editing and manipulation.

Uhh? I don't understand.

Not sure what you want or need? Don't really understand how all of this works?

We offer 24 bit "true" color for all JPG formatted files which codes for 16,777,216 color variations.  With TIFF service 48 bit color is available which codes to over 281.5 trillion colors colors and preserves the ability to correct color professionally.

Media

Standard Compact Disk (CD). CD media is not stable and can deteriorate after a number of years.

M-DISK (Millennial Disc). We recommend this media for archiving. It is readable on a standard CD player and is stable with a 1,000 year media life.
